Australia’s only purpose-built theatre-in-the-round, the Roundhouse Theatre is a unique and versatile performance venue.
The raked auditorium ensures the audience has one hundred per cent visibility to the stage and seats 400 'in-the-round' or 340 in 'thrust-mode'. Renowned for its intimacy, accessibility and imaginative staging capabilities, the auditorium is a modern and expanded copy of the original La Boite Theatre at Hale Street.
Opened in 2004, the theatre enjoys a full complement of lighting and sound equipment plus self-contained dressing rooms and green room. The adjoining Rehearsal Room often hosts post-event functions or acts as a workshop space. Situated just 2km from Brisbane's CBD, the Roundhouse Theatre is surrounded by parklands, restaurants and recreation facilities.
